Individuals and businesses can still report damage from the August fire until Wednesday. The PN form, the correct submission method and confirmation of receipt for an email are crucial.
Who needs to act now
The City of Omiš is asking individuals and legal entities to report damage caused within the city area by the fire of 13 August 2026. On 1 September, Split-Dalmatia County declared a natural disaster in relation to the incident. This does not start an automatic payment process: those affected must report their own damage by the deadline.
The deadline is Wednesday, 9 September. The published call states that late reports will not be considered. Anyone whose property, agricultural land or business facilities were affected should therefore not wait for a later personal invitation.
The PN form is central
The PN form is prescribed for the report. It is intended to link the damage clearly to the affected person or organisation. Supporting material such as photographs, location details, proof of ownership or use and available invoices makes the subsequent assessment easier to follow, but does not replace the form.
Submitting a report is not recognition of a particular amount of damage and is not a promise of compensation. Only after registration will the responsible commission assess which losses fall within the procedure and how they are valued.
Submit in person or by email
The city accepts reports in person at Trg kralja Tomislava 5, first floor. Extended opening hours apply until the deadline: Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00.
Alternatively, the city lists prijavastetepozar@omis.hr. The official call includes an important condition: an email is treated as received only once the city has confirmed receipt. If that confirmation does not arrive, the sender should follow up in good time or submit the documents in person.
How to document the damage sensibly
Photograph both the overall scene and details without entering unstable buildings, burned slopes or closed areas. Record the location, date, affected plot or address, and distinguish immediate fire damage from later consequential damage. Keep the original files; edited images alone are unnecessarily weak as evidence.
Businesses should list affected machinery, stocks and interruptions separately as well. Insured parties should notify their insurer in parallel and keep its reference number. The city procedure and a private insurance claim are not the same thing.
What the call does not promise
The call specifies neither a fixed reimbursement rate nor a payment date. Nor does it say that every reported item will be accepted. What has initially been published is the disaster declaration, the reporting procedure and the deadline.
Anyone needing help to complete the form should contact the city before the deadline. What matters is demonstrable receipt by 9 September—not the hope of submitting missing documents later without a registered initial report.
