Krk Bridge will not be closed all day

Stage three of the CRO Race runs from Krk Town to Labin on Thursday, 24 September 2026. HAK lists a full closure of the Rijeka approach and the bridge from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Krk Town gives an expected directional schedule of roughly 11:30 am–1:00 pm towards the island and 12:15–1:00 pm leaving it; police and local safety conditions remain decisive.

Traffic controls begin earlier in Krk Town

Special controls around the start apply from 10:45 am to 1:00 pm, with entry to and exit from Krk Town temporarily unavailable before roads reopen section by section. Team presentation starts at 10:15 am, riders assemble at 11:15, the neutralised ride begins at Obala Hrvatske mornarice at 11:25, and the official start is scheduled for 11:34.

The route passes Malinska and Njivice on its way to the bridge

From Krk the 174.5-kilometre stage passes Vrbničko polje, Soline, Rasopasno, Malinska and Njivice before crossing Krk Bridge, then continues via the Rijeka area, Opatija, Lovran, Mošćenička Draga, Brseč and Plomin to Labin. Traffic will be stopped in sections ahead of the peloton; entering or overtaking within the secured race corridor is not permitted.

Buses and onward connections may also be delayed

HAK notes that much of the route uses important main roads, so queues and bus delays may develop behind the race convoy. Anyone with a midday flight, ferry or medical appointment should cross substantially earlier or wait for confirmed reopening rather than rely on a minute-perfect schedule.

Labin has separate closures and parking bans

Parking is prohibited from the previous evening until Thursday night at Titov trg, by the cemetery in Ulica Sv. Katarine and on part of the Rialto car park. Labin lists traffic controls from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and an interruption of the main Rabac–Labin road from 1:30 to 4:30 pm; the local route via Gornji Rabac, Ripenda and Streljana is not suitable for heavy vehicles.

Finish expected between 3:43 and 4:09 pm

The first passage through the Labin area is forecast for roughly 2:42–3:00 pm, with the final finish at Titov trg expected between 3:43 and 4:09 pm depending on average speed. Wind, race dynamics and safety decisions can change those forecasts, so roads will not reopen solely on a theoretical passing time.

Emergency services remain operational

Krk Town states that emergency vehicles and rescue services can operate during full closures, but this is not a general passage option for private motorists. Police instructions, temporary signs and current HAK information take priority over saved routes; navigation apps cannot authorise passage.

The date, route, 174.5-kilometre distance, HAK bridge closure from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and the detailed measures in Krk and Labin are confirmed, as is police control of the operation. Exact closure and reopening times for individual sections are not guaranteed, so travellers need a buffer and should check HAK and municipal notices immediately before departure.
