Murter-Kornati municipality is ordering the removal of boats and trailers listed in its decision from the maritime domain. From 2 October, a contractor may clear them at the owners’ expense.
A specific deadline for a specific area
Murter-Kornati municipality has instructed owners of specified boats and trailers on the maritime domain at Jersani to remove them by 10:00 am on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. The order identifies part of cadastral parcel 11610/17 in Murter-Betina, so this is a defined administrative case rather than a blanket clearance of all boats in Murter.
Officers recorded the items on 17 September
Municipal and maritime wardens recorded numerous trailers and boats on trailers on 17 September, listing them by available registration or identifying features. Golden Beach does not republish those identifiers, but owners must consult the official annex to establish whether their boat or trailer is included.
The municipality considers the storage a violation
The order says the listed boats and trailers were left on the maritime domain contrary to local rules, citing Croatia’s Maritime Domain and Seaports Act and the municipal rules for maritime-domain areas. This finding concerns storage at this location; it does not declare the ownership, registration or technical condition of every listed vessel unlawful in general.
A contractor may remove the items from 2 October
If owners do not comply, a third party or contractor is scheduled to carry out removal at 10:00 am on Friday, 2 October 2026. The work will be at each owner’s risk and expense, so affected owners should arrange a safe, lawful storage location before enforcement begins.
An appeal does not automatically suspend removal
The decision includes appeal instructions and names the responsible ministry, but also states that an appeal does not stay enforcement. A legal query therefore does not replace compliance with the deadlines; affected owners should contact the municipality promptly and obtain independent legal advice if necessary.
Possible fines are not fines already imposed
The order warns that coercive fines may follow continued non-compliance and gives different upper limits for individuals and companies linked to average gross wages. It does not show that such a fine has already been imposed on every listed owner; what is confirmed is the removal order, deadline and announced substitute enforcement.
What owners should check now
Owners should first compare their boat or trailer with the official annex, then organise transport, a towing vehicle, access and a lawful new location so removal is complete before 10:00 am on 30 September. Unclear identification, missing papers or an unroadworthy trailer should be addressed early with the municipality or a qualified operator; moving the item to another public shoreline does not solve the issue.
What is confirmed and what the order does not say
The location, cadastral parcel, inspection on 17 September, owner-removal deadline and enforcement planned for 2 October at owners’ cost and risk are confirmed. The order does not abolish all boat-storage areas in Murter, provide general storage advice or specify the final future use of the cleared land.
