Theatre, film, music and stand-up: the Open Days run from 17 October to 3 December. The name does not mean that venues are open daily or that every event is free.
An autumn programme, not a single day of festivities
The coast becomes quieter after summer, but cultural life does not disappear. Under the title “Dani otvorenih vrata”, the Kaštela Cultural Centre brings together several weeks of theatre, film and music. On 19 October, the town published a notice about the programme, which had already begun on 17 October.
The series runs until 3 December 2026. It includes activities for children and adults, Kino Mediteran screenings, stand-up and concerts. This is a sequence of events on individual dates, not an exhibition open continuously every day.
An open-door title says nothing about admission
The town explicitly notes that admission arrangements vary: some events are free, while others require tickets. Dalmatia Film Festival and the twentieth anniversary of Kaštelansko kazalište are also part of the announced programme.
When planning, consider each date separately. “Open Days” is an umbrella title, not an all-inclusive ticket. Even a free evening may require registration or have limited seating; the general announcement does not establish availability.
What matters for German-speaking visitors
For a film screening, the original language, subtitles and age rating are crucial. For theatre or stand-up, understanding the language matters even more directly. A Croatian cultural programme should not be advertised as a German-language holiday activity without confirmation.
Also check the specific venue. If staying near Split or Trogir, do not simply enter “Kaštela” in your satnav and expect it to identify a particular auditorium entrance. Plan the return journey, start time and admission time together, especially for an evening event.
The current calendar is your best way in
The town’s announcement links to the cultural centre’s website. There, or directly with the organiser, you can check dates, prices, booking arrangements and available seats. With forwarded event images, it is particularly worth checking the date and year.
For an autumn stay, choose a suitable performance first and plan the rest of the evening around it. That makes the cultural programme a concrete part of your trip rather than a vague idea that something must be happening somewhere. The series is also an opportunity to see Kaštela as a place where people live, with its own cultural scene – not just the stretch between the airport and Split.
