Restaurant Week, big-game fishing, the gourmet stage, street food and three concert evenings do not run in the same time slot. Anyone who wants to experience the festival should first decide whether food, music or the fishing competition is the priority.
Tunalicious consists of several programmes
The festival officially runs from 7 to 13 September in Poreč. Restaurant Week covers the full period, while TunIstra Big Game Fishing and the street-food programme take place only from 9 to 12 September. The Spinnaker Gourmet Stage is scheduled for 10 September.
That distinction matters: visitors arriving on Sunday will still find Restaurant Week, but not automatically the stage, boats or street food. The festival name describes a week, not a continuous programme at one location.
Restaurant Week is spread across participating venues
During Tuna Restaurant Week, participating restaurants serve their own tuna dishes and menus. It is not a central food service on the Riva. Opening hours, prices, availability and reservations are set by each venue.
Anyone coming specifically to eat should therefore choose a participating restaurant first and arrange a table directly. The street-food programme on the waterfront is the more spontaneous option, but it runs only through Saturday.
Big Game Fishing is both a competition and a spectator scene
TunIstra Big Game Fishing takes place from 9 to 12 September in Istrian waters off Poreč. The teams do not set out as an open passenger excursion; taking part in the competition and watching from shore are two different things.
For visitors, the most interesting moments are often on the waterfront when boats depart or return and the supporting programme begins. Weather and competition organisation may affect the times, so the latest information on site is decisive.
Cuisine meets the stage on 10 September
The Spinnaker Gourmet Stage brings culinary presentations together on Thursday. It complements Restaurant Week and street food, but replaces neither. Anyone hoping to see a particular chef or programme item should check the latest daily announcement.
Especially on an outdoor stage, the start and schedule may be adjusted because of the weather. A general festival announcement is therefore not a minute-by-minute live timetable.
The concerts run from Thursday through Saturday
TTRT, Vojko V and Hiljson Mandela are announced for 10 September. Top of the Pops, Grupa Cambi and Giuliano follow on Friday. Saturday belongs to Pop Gunz and the Superstar Show.
The music evenings are part of the public supporting programme on the waterfront. Anyone travelling for a single act should still check the start time and stage shortly beforehand, as the official overview cannot guarantee there will be no programme changes.
Weather and harbour operations set practical limits
The event falls during a period of unsettled weather over the northern Adriatic. Safety and the organisers’ decisions govern the fishing programme; visitors on land should follow DHMZ warnings and local instructions. A postponement at sea does not automatically cancel every food offer.
Routes needed for harbour operations and emergency services must remain clear along the waterfront. Barriers are not recommendations for a better photo spot. During a thunderstorm, leave the exposed quay early.
A simple plan for your visit
For a meal at a reserved table, choose a restaurant and book it. For street food and a concert, come to the waterfront between Thursday and Saturday and check the day’s start time. For the fishing competition, wait for official return times and do not expect to join a boat.
This keeps Tunalicious manageable even though several formats run in parallel. Sunday is mainly a Restaurant Week day; according to the official overview, the large waterfront programme ends on Saturday.
