Rally closures affect Novi Vinodolski, Bribir and the hinterland of Senj. Different sections close at different times. If you are planning accommodation, a hike or a journey through the area, check the outward and return routes separately.
Two event days and several closure windows
The first Tehnolub Motul Rally Primorje takes place on 10 and 11 October. The City of Senj announces the ceremonial start for Saturday at 20:00 on Trg Ivana Mažuranića in Novi Vinodolski. On Sunday, the Senj 1 special stage is scheduled for 09:54 and Senj 2 for 11:32.
For travellers, however, the race start is not the same as the start of a road closure. Setup, safety arrangements and event operations need their own time windows. Anyone hoping to leave an affected place just before the first rally car may therefore find the road already closed.
The longer closures affect the hinterland
For Sunday, HAK lists ŽC5093 Bribir–Lukovo and the connecting section along ŽC5062 to the junction with ŽC5219 before U.O. Vera. The closure here lasts from 07:30 to 17:30. The road numbers and the specified section are what matter, not just a place name in your navigation system.
For Senj–Vrataruša–Podbilo–Alan, the city confirms a closure from 08:50 until approximately 13:00, including associated access roads. LC59001 and ŽC5110 are named. One section reopening earlier elsewhere therefore does not mean that the next connection you plan to use is also open.
Squares in Novi Vinodolski are affected too
According to HAK, Korzo Hrvatskih Branitelja and Trg Ivana Mažuranića are closed on Saturday from 14:00 to 21:00 and on Sunday from 16:00 to 20:00. These are additional closure windows alongside those on roads between towns.
For accommodation in the centre, ask specific questions: where can luggage be unloaded, can you reach a reserved parking space, and which side of the barrier is the entrance on? A booking confirmation does not override traffic restrictions. Arrange a meeting point that does not depend on an impromptu exception.
A day trip needs a workable return route too
Before a hike or sightseeing visit, check whether you will be able to drive your car out again later. An access road open in the morning may be closed when you return. The driving time shown by a navigation app alone is not enough for this planning.
Use signposted diversions and follow instructions from personnel on duty. Small side roads are not automatically authorised alternatives; this article therefore offers no unverified shortcut. Spectators should use only areas designated by the organiser and keep access routes clear. The closure times are travel information, not a guarantee of a safe spectator spot.
