No trains are running between Sušak Pećine and Rijeka. On Thursday, replacement buses will operate between Rijeka and Škrljevo for ten services, but a stop list has not been published.

What HŽPP has announced

In its evening traffic notice, HŽ Putnički prijevoz reports that the line between Sušak Pećine and Rijeka is closed until further notice because of an extraordinary event. The notice does not give a reopening time.

For Thursday, 3 September, replacement buses are scheduled between Rijeka and Škrljevo for trains 703, 4600, 4603, 4602, 4000, 4001, 4607, 4606, 4609 and 702. Travellers should match their own train number against this list rather than assuming that every service on the route is covered.

02

Do not rely on the published time for train 4000

The notice contains an implausible timetable detail for train 4000: departure from Škrljevo is shown as 13:40, while arrival in Rijeka is listed as 13:23. Those times cannot describe the same journey in that order.

Golden Beach therefore reproduces the confirmed train number but not the contradictory minute-by-minute detail. Anyone using train 4000 should check the live timetable or ask HŽPP for the corrected departure and arrival times.

03

The bus stop has not been confirmed

The current notice does not link to a list of replacement-bus stops. A boarding point commonly used in front of a station during planned works does not prove that the same point applies to this short-notice disruption.

Connections are not generally guaranteed during replacement transport. Allow extra time, confirm the boarding point before leaving the station area and follow staff instructions on site.

Do not mix separate traffic notices

The same HŽPP page also lists train 4811 from Permani to Rijeka as cancelled because of technical difficulties. Passengers are advised to use the later train 4813.

HŽPP does not explicitly connect that cancellation with the Sušak Pećine–Rijeka closure. The two notices should therefore be treated separately: one concerns short-notice replacement buses towards Škrljevo, while the other is a technically justified cancellation towards Rijeka.

05

A practical check before travelling

First check the train number, then allow time for the transfer and confirm exactly where the bus departs. Reload the HŽPP traffic page shortly before setting out because the line status and replacement arrangements may change.

This is time-sensitive transport information. A later notice from the operator takes precedence over the details available here on the evening of 2 September.
