The 82nd Viška regata is scheduled for the weekend of 16 to 18 October. Regular entry has already closed. Even accepted crews still need to handle registration, berthing and the latest race notices separately.

01

The regatta connects two ports

JK Labud and JK Vis are planning two passage races through Splitska vrata: from Split to Vis on Friday and back on Sunday. A race in Vis harbour is also announced for Saturday. The current race documents remain binding.

For visitors ashore, this follows a different rhythm from a sporting event with a fixed playing time. An announced start does not tell you when every boat will finish. If you want to follow the action, allow plenty of time and do not make your return journey depend on the arrival of a particular yacht.

02

Entry and registration are separate steps

The regular entry deadline was 29 September at 23:59. The organiser may accept late entries under stricter conditions; that does not confer a right to a last-minute place. According to the notice of race, the race office at Uvala Baluni 9 in Split is scheduled to handle registration from 12 to 14 October, daily from 09:00 to 18:00.

If you have already entered, review the confirmation and required documents together. If you have not yet been accepted, clarify that directly with the club before arranging travel or a charter solely around the hope of taking part. A visible online form is not in itself confirmation of acceptance.

03

A race entry does not include a guaranteed berth

According to the notice of race, the organiser does not provide berths in Split or Vis. That is as important to passage planning as the start time.

Arrange the harbour logistics independently of participation. Plan how crew members will reach the boat, when provisions and equipment will be taken aboard, and what flexibility remains if plans change. A shared set of information accessible to everyone is more useful than individual messages saved only on the skipper's phone.

04

Read the official notices before departure

The official online notice board on the regatta website is the authoritative information point. The notice of race expressly reserves the possibility of programme changes.

Our recommendation: check the latest notices and weather before the start of each leg, and do not leave the crew briefing until the minutes before casting off. This article is a preview, not sailing instructions or a weather forecast for the coming weekend. An event date also does not establish which conditions are suitable for your boat and crew.
