Blues, rock and natural wine meet on Kanfanar’s square on 13 September. Two event calendars list 10 am and noon respectively—the discrepancy needs checking before travelling.

01

The festival takes place on Kanfanar’s main square

The Dvigrad Blues Festival is announced for Sunday, 13 September, on Kanfanarska placa in Kanfanar. The programme combines a long day of concerts with the seventh gathering of natural-wine producers.

The name can easily mislead: the venue is Kanfanar, not the ruined town of Dvigrad. Navigation should therefore be set for the square in the town centre.

02

Ten acts appear in both programme listings

The announced acts are Krissy Matthews, Damir Avdić, Cyborg Zero, Cotton Pickers, Delta 21, EETB & Kreše, Messerschmitt, the Gianluca De Palo Band, Gypsy Eyes and Breck Branco.

The list ranges from blues to harder and more experimental styles. The sources checked did not publish precise times for individual performances.

03

The calendars disagree about the start

Istra Events lists a 10 am start. Regional Express describes a programme running from noon to 10 pm. Both refer to the same date, venue and line-up.

The grounds or wine area may open before the stage programme, but this explanation is not confirmed. Golden Beach therefore does not smooth the discrepancy into an invented single time.

04

Natural wine is a separate part of the day

Alongside the music programme, the seventh gathering of producers of so-called natural wine has been announced. Regional Express also names chef Tvrtko Šakota in the culinary programme.

The checked announcements do not fully explain which wineries will attend, which tastings will carry a charge or whether reservations are required.

05

Free admission has not been reliably confirmed

The available current sources do not publish an unequivocally confirmed admission price. That supports neither a claim of free entry nor a specific ticket price.

Anyone travelling for one particular act should check the organiser’s channel shortly before the festival. The same applies to parking, cash payments and possible weather-related changes.

06

Do not confuse it with the early-music festival

Istria also has a Dvigrad Festival of Early Music. The blues festival in Kanfanar is a different event with a different programme and organisational framework.

Adding ‘blues’ or ‘Kanfanar, 13 September 2026’ when searching and planning a route helps visitors avoid older programmes under the related cultural name.

07

Sensible travel plans leave some margin

Anyone wishing to experience the whole day can arrive in the late morning and verify the confirmed start that morning. That accommodates both a possible earlier market opening and the stage window announced from noon.

This is not enough for a particular performance: without a running order, only a current update from the organiser will help. The ten names are confirmed; their order is not.
