A Rafale, Black Hawk, Zlin 242L and Krila Oluje are scheduled from 15:00 on 6 September. Admission is free, although weather, firefighting needs and aircraft availability may still alter the programme.

01

Sunday begins before the flying programme

The 29th Susreti za Rudija take place in Gornja Stubica on 5 and 6 September. A Mass is scheduled for 10:00 on Sunday in the parish church of St George, followed by the official opening at 11:30 in the Rudolf Perešin Memorial Park.

From 12:00, food and a market featuring regional family farms are planned near the monument to the Peasants’ Revolt and Matija Gubec in Samci. Visitors coming only for the aircraft displays do not need to arrive in the morning, but should allow extra time to find a good viewing place.

02

Flying is scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00

The organiser lists a flying window from 15:00 to 17:00 on Sunday, 6 September. The Ministry of Defence confirms the participation of a Rafale multirole fighter, a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter, a Zlin 242L and the Krila Oluje aerobatic team.

This is a list of participants, not a minute-by-minute timetable. The order, individual manoeuvres and actual take-off times may change. No official time has been published for the Rafale flypast.

03

Admission is free, but the best place is not reserved

The organiser says that all published programme events are free of charge. It recommends the meadow below the Matija Gubec monument, the area around the Gubec linden tree and the viewpoint near Restaurant Rody as viewing locations.

These recommendations do not guarantee a place. Arrive early and bring a blanket, water, sun protection and hearing protection if needed. Remain in approved areas and keep access roads clear; no special parking rules have been published.

04

Expect substantially more aircraft noise

The Ministry of Defence has announced increased aircraft noise in Gornja Stubica and parts of Krapina-Zagorje County on Sunday. This also affects people who are not attending the event.

Families with noise-sensitive children, people sensitive to loud sounds and animal owners should take the time window into account. The sound of a fast jet may be heard far beyond the designated spectator area.

05

Weather and firefighting needs may change the programme

The organiser expressly lists weather, the ongoing wildfire season, availability and exceptional circumstances as reasons why the programme may change. Aircraft in particular may be needed elsewhere at short notice or unable to perform in unsuitable conditions.

A published name therefore does not guarantee that every aircraft will actually fly. Check the organiser’s and Ministry of Defence channels on Sunday morning before travelling solely for one part of the programme.

06

The programme returns to the town centre in the evening

A DJ set is scheduled from 17:00 to 19:00 after the flying display. Miroslav Škoro is due to perform in the Rudolf Perešin Memorial Park from 19:00 to 21:00, followed by the group Kumovi until midnight.

Saturday’s programme already included the Petica za Rudija races, games for veterans’ associations and an evening concert by the Croatian Armed Forces Jazz Orchestra. Sunday is therefore not only an air show, but also a day of remembrance, a market and concerts.

07

The event commemorates Rudolf Perešin

On 25 October 1991, Rudolf Perešin left the Bihać base in a Yugoslav Air Force MiG-21 and landed in Klagenfurt because he did not want to fight against Croatia. The annual event in Gornja Stubica combines remembrance of him with aviation and a public programme.

This background explains why the memorial park, church and flying site form one narrative across the day. Anyone photographing only the sky sees its most spectacular element, but not the full meaning of the gathering.
